Harriet's House Portraits and other Illustrated Gifts

Etsy Banner copy.jpg

Since lockdown started, which sorrowfully heralded the end to any arty activity on my calendar, I have been steadily building up a new venture painting houses. Which is fortunate because I love painting houses! So it has been an absolute joy every time!

The only problem with selling portraits on my website, though, is that Squarespace don’t make allowances for any extras, such as furry companions. I also had this idea that, for anyone who was interested, I could also print bags, coasters and placemats of the house as an extra for gifts (for example, to a daughter who has left home and is a bit homesick).

But never fear, Etsy is here! Thankfully, Etsy is very hot on any requirements such as these, in fact, choices could go on forever, but hopefully I have added the most applicable ones for your needs.

If you are reading this and would like me to paint your house, boat, wigwam, and not just for you, but as a gift for a loved one, you can still order from the Shop section here on my site. But if you want any of those extras, or indeed, anything else that I could tweak the dropdown menu for but haven’t thought of, then visit my Etsy shop right here and go to the featured items: https://www.etsy.com/shop/HarrietQuilty

Enjoy Christmas and have fun at New Year!

Is it really this time of year? I swear time goes faster and faster with each and every year!

I would like to wish all of my customers a fantastic festive break and a huge thank you for your support over the year.

Shop will be closed until after the new year. You will be able to continue to place orders, but I will physically be away from my workroom (on holiday, yay!!) until 6th January.

YES! I think that needs no more info other than I will be selling my work along some stunning, beautiful gorgeous work and their creatives, including Clare Pearl, Elaine Hook, Dorothy Margot, Sue Menconi, Diana Ruiz and, since I am still recruiting, maybe a few more :) The workshop is free, although donations would be gratefully accepted to cover the cost of the materials.

Pop Up Todmorden Open Studios 2019

TOS 72dpi - use for online.png

What a strange summer we have had! Some days have felt very cold and autumnal (or like Spring, right at the beginning) and other days have been boiling with all time highs! I’ve been oh so lucky to catch my holiday breaks during the boiling days but I’m not entirely sure I am ready for the summer to end. Can’t believe it is September tomorrow!

But September it is and forward we trot :) This marks the start of the busy season, so (happily) no time to mope about! We kick off with Todmorden Open Studios 2019, and I can’t wait! Like last year, I shall be showing my work at the Old Co-op in Rochdale Road along with some incredibly talented artists while cocktails and South American street food will be served downstairs at Yakumama. I strongly recommend you treat yourself to a Margarita as they make you happy and I can’t think of a better way to view art :) For more information about their food and drink, visit: https://www.yakumama.co.uk/

I have posted the Tod Open Studios poster above. Please feel free to share and use. Below, I have posted the artist listings (kindly created by Mr Q although he will not be showing his work this year). Again, please share and use.

Oh, I almost forgot. We are going to have a fantastic, amazing, deliriously joyous launch at The Golden Lion starting on Thursday 12th September from 6pm. As with tradition, there shall be the very popular live drawing event and the infectious sound of the famous band from Brazil , Theo Mizú. The band will play a mix of eastern and western musical references (Gypsy, Balkan, Arab, Brazilian). I’ve a feeling the night is going to be a scorcher! You can check out the band here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpHg0_Vruyo

Come visit us, come to the launch!

Hebden Bridge Open Studios

Event Advertisement for FB.jpg

We are going to have a musical happening and we would like you to join us on Saturday, 6th July at Birchcliffe Centre from 3pm. There will be booze aplenty, great conversation and amazing visual stimulation to feast your eyes upon. On top of all this, we have live acoustics by Inbetween Music - Andrew Daley and Steve Lacey-Marsden. They look forward to entertaining you with clarinet, mandola and probably a few other instruments as well. They love a good tune and have built up a great collection from around the world, some old, some new. Is it folk? Is it jazz? Is it something else? Who cares, it's going to sound amazing!

Harriet Quilty and Josephine Gornall's art will be available at Phinefibre studio, Birchcliffe Centre, throughout the event. Tea, biscuits and a warm welcome to greet you!

Creative with Nature Exhibition Extended!

cwn shopfront.png

Hello everyone and a warm welcome to those that are new to subscribing!

Can’t believe the days are so long now and that the summer is virtually upon us; it just needs to get a little warmer and we’ll be there! Already the last six months have zipped by before I have said the word ‘kni……

I am pleased to announce that Joe from Creative with Nature, in Rochdale Road, Todmorden, has decided to extend the exhibition for another month throughout June. This is great news and, if you haven’t been already, please pay the gallery a visit. It is primarily a willow workshop/gallery and the first thing that hits you as you walk in is the fresh smell of the willow. Mmmmmmmm.

If you would like to buy artwork on line, please visit ‘shop’ here on my site. Not all the work that is at Creative with Nature is online here. So if you can, please go along to the gallery and check out all the other lovely art & craft on sale there.

From 5-7th July I shall be participating at the Hebden Bridge Open Studios, sharing artist Phinefibre, Josephine Gornall’s lovely studio space at the Birchcliffe Centre. The Birchcliffe centre was once upon a time a church. It is now partitioned off as studios and well worth a visit. Josephine’s studio has the most handsome window made of stained glass with the image of Jesus Christ looking down upon her. She is in good company and so will I be. Here is the link to find out more: http://hebdenbridgeopenstudios.org/

The Map of Todmorden I illustrated for the Water Quarter Collective is slowly being rolled out. It is great to see the map being printed in large format and displayed in various locations. There is still some more work to complete as new sponsors come along. I shall be illustrating their business fronts to be included on the map shortly.

More besides as there is a lot of exciting activity on the horizon, which I can’t talk about, so for now I’m signing off. Speak to you soon. Buckets of love.
