That first week, when we packed our bags and moved to the dramatic Pennine Hills in the steep crack of a valley, it felt like we had arrived at a slice of nature’s finest idyll. That first week when my canine companion, Hector, and I crossed the road and started the climb up the steep slope, I looked up and saw an very majestic, handsome stag look at me over the brow of the hill. We had a moment. He just stared, wondering what I was going to do now I had seen him. I did what any sensible creature would do, I gave him a wide space and turned to changed my course of direction. Since then I have seen many roe deer does roam upon our moors, but never again a stag.
Our steep hills are equally as beautiful in the moonlight when they become very mysterious, full of intrigue and magic.
This is an original very affordable painting, there will never be one just the same again! It is painted in waterbased gouache, which doesn’t fade with age. The aperture size is 15cm and the mount is 20.5cm square. It comes with a mount, a back and bag for protection. I purposely do not frame most of my paintings because of ease of delivery and also so that you can choose whatever frame you prefer (although, if you are asking, I usually use a white frame).
